National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) 2025

General Explanation:

The National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) is a survey specifically designed to collect employment data on an ongoing basis. Data and employment indicators resulting from Sakernas are very important for the continuity of development and are widely used for planning, monitoring and evaluating government development programs, especially in the field of employment in various sectors. From Sakernas, estimates of basic employment data and indicators are obtained, such as the number of employed people, the number of unemployed, TPT, TPAK, etc. at the national, provincial and district/city levels. Several employment indicators resulting from Sakernas can also be used for monitoring SDGs and RPJMN indicators.

The Directorate of Population and Employment Statistics has designed the February 2025 Sakernas questionnaire which implements ICLS 19, 20 and 21 which are the latest references from the International Labor Organization (ILO). However, the February 2025 Sakernas questionnaire also maintains the implementation of ICLS 13 to maintain series data and fulfill the need for releasing employment data which still uses employment concepts based on ICLS 13. Apart from changes to the questionnaire design, the February 2025 Sakernas also made changes to the data collection/implementation period as well as changes methodology.

Objective:

General Objective: The objective of data collection for Sakernas February 2025 is to provide basic sustainable employment data.

Special purpose:

1. Sakernas February 2025 aims to obtain estimates of the number of working people with various job characteristics, the number of unemployed with various socio-demographic characteristics, and other employment indicators based on the 13th ICLS employment concept, as well as representative developments at the national and provincial levels.
2. Obtain employment indicators based on the 19th, 20th, and 21st ICLS employment concepts, such as working population, unemployment, labor underutilization, employment status based on ICSE 18, workers/businesses in formal activities, and other employment indicators.

Sample Coverage:

Sakernas 2025 is held four times a year (quarterly), namely in February, May, August and November and is held in 38 provinces and 514 districts/cities throughout the Republic of Indonesia. The February 2025 Sakernas includes a sample of 76,800 households to produce representative data at the provincial level, and the August 2025 Sakernas data collection includes a sample of 307,200 households to produce representative data at the district/city level. Meanwhile, the Sakernas data collection for May and November 2025 includes a sample of 19,200 households to produce data that is representative at the national level.

Training Schedule:

The February 2025 Sakernas officer training was carried out using 2 (two) methods, namely online and offline, where the online method was carried out on 16, 17 and 20 January 2025 while the offline method learning was held on 22-23 January 2025.

Field Implementation:

The February 2025 Sakernas updating activity was carried out on 24 January - 7 February 2025, while the field implementation was carried out on 8-28 February 2025.
